I’ve always loved babies, so after my husband’s passing, I started keeping and caring for babies. That’s when I got the name, ‘Gamma Betty.’ I already had grand children, and a huge family, with many nieces and nephews, and even a few great nieces and nephews! They called me Gamma (for Grandma) and the nickname stuck.
This kept me happy, and busy, for many years. After some health problems, I had to cut back ‘baby-sitting’ and needed to get busy with my other favorite past time... painting! After I retired from the ‘Nanny business,’ I devoted more time to painting. I also started teaching and encouraging others, young and old, like I was inspired by Mr. LeNoir.
Now I spend time with family and friends and try to cook all our favorite foods (another favorite thing of mine). I still paint with a group of my senior citizen friends called the “Memory Painters.” We visit and laugh as much as we paint! We go to museums when we can, and check out artists’ paintings - we always get ideas of things we can try the next time we’re together. Life is Good!!
I hope you enjoy seeing my works and will consider purchasing one print or more. It would do my heart good to know folks liked my paintings enough to own a print and display it for others to see. Nothing makes an artist happier!
Thank you for your interest in me and my paintings. Please tell your friends and family about this site, www.BettyHead.com, and ask them to come visit me some time.
God bless you all... and all your loved ones as well... especially the babies!
With love,

I was brought up in Alabama, one of twelve children, to the age of 17. Then I moved to Columbus, Georgia, where I met my husband soon after. We married very young and had three children, but we only had 24 years together before he passed away. Our two oldest children were no longer at home, with one married and one in college, leaving our 12-year old son at home with me.
